Open Volunteer Position: Treasurer
The Muddy Music Centre is looking for a volunteer Treasurer to join our awesome non-profit! 
As Treasurer you would be responsible for:
·         Signing cheques
·         Helping to create an annual budget
·         Attending up to 5 events per year
·         Attending 1 board meeting every 2 months
  • And of course - having fun and enjoying yourself!

Experience is an asset but it is not required.

Volunteers at The Muddy Music Centre will assist with the implementation of children's activities while having fun! Don't you wish a camp this fun and exciting was around when you where a kid?  Well at The Muddy Music Centre we believe you're never too old to come to camp.  Come on and play and help to create a safe and magical summer experience for some amazing children. Let out your own amazing inner child... don't worry, we won't tell anyone!  A perfect opportunity to complete high school community hours.
 
If you have dreamed about working for a Not for Profit Agency where the first job responsibility is to have fun, then volunteering is an essential first step toward being hired.   
 
·        Volunteer Interviews begin May 9th, 2009
·        Volunteer Training must complete 4 days of training  June 5,6,26,27, 2010 
 
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Help camp leaders teach various pottery techniques
  • Help camp leaders teach filmmaking and drama techniques
  • Assist children with activities and project completion
  • Reclaim clay, set up tools, materials, and clean-up
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum age – 15 years, 18 years for Youth Leadership Camp
  • Valid police record check
  • Experience with Art/Drama is an asset but not necessary
  • Must enjoy working with children, previous experience preferred
  • Responsive, compassionate, and enthusiastic
  • Have a level of comfort and experience working with children with special need is an asset but not necessary( to be one on one support )  
 
CampDescriptions:
 
CampWooHoo: This is an exciting one week, 5 full-day summer program for children 4 - 14 years old. In this camp the children’s days will be filled with Pottery, Arts/Crafts, Storytelling, Drumming, Dance, Acting, and Filmmaking. Each day kids go home happy, tired and dirty.  
 
Days: Monday - Friday
Time: 9:00 am – 3:00pm
Dates:  July 5th – July 9th, 2010
July 12th – July 16th, 2010
July 19th – July 23rd, 2010
July 26th- July 29th, 2010
August 9th – August 13th, 2010
August 16th - August 20, 2010
 
Youth Leadership CampThis is a full week of crazy creative adventure for youth 10-14 and 15-17 years old. This camp aims to improve aspects of  character such as self-esteem, self-expression, leadership skills, self respect and respect for others. The week starts with digging up the clay from the river. The rest of the week consists of carving hand drums, firing clay pieces in a pit fire, and much more. Thursday night campers will sleep over to watch and keep the pit fire going. The Thursday overnight activity is optional for volunteers.
 
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
