Our History
The Muddy Music Centre was established in 2008 as a not-for-profit corporation providing inspiration, healing and uninhibited expression through clay, music and glass.
Despite the organization’s youth, its vision has developed through many years of experience.
Our founder and executive director, Shawna Morrisette, has been providing a broad spectrum of programs to the community through the Majestic Mud Studios for over 11 years. After many years of seeing an unfulfilled need and receiving countless requests from parents, support workers and community agencies Shawna wanted to give the community a not-for-profit agency dedicated to providing financially accessible programs available to individuals of any age or ability, including youth-at-risk and special needs groups. With the help, support and encouragement of some amazing people the Muddy Music Centre – Community Outreach & Development was born.
We believe the Muddy Music Centre ‘s services and programs have significant value in many areas of the community, including Social Services, Seniors, Special Needs, Mental Health, Child & Youth, Corporate, Support Staff and Teachers. Yet, to date, this is a severely under-serviced industry.
The Muddy Music Centre is committed to providing these much-needed services to our communities.
